MatchFit Academy's own Gianna Hanf and Jordyn Bauer of the 2009 Girls ECNL team recently showcased their talents at the 2024 ECNL Girls Conference Cup, representing the North Atlantic Conference. This selection is a tremendous honor, as the ECNL (Elite Clubs National League) Conference Cup provides an exclusive platform for top players across the country to compete at an elite level.
The ECNL Conference Cup brings together 120 of the nation's best rising U16-U18 girls players, who are placed into eight teams for a three-day mini-game competition. Each team is a blend of athletes from different ECNL Girls Conferences, forming new collaborations among players from geographically linked areas. The event culminates in a championship game to determine the Conference Cup Champion.
Both Gianna and Jordyn reflected on the impact of participating in the Conference Cup, emphasizing both the high level of competition and the strong bonds they formed with other elite players.
"Conference Cup was one of the best experiences I’ve had," Hanf shared. "I got to play with some of the highest-level ECNL players in the United States. It was fun, challenging, and an amazing experience. I’m so glad I made some new friendships along the way."
Jordyn Bauer shared similar thoughts on the incredible opportunity : “The ECNL Conference Cup was such an amazing experience. The competition against other teams was such a high level that I loved the challenge! The best part was the friendships made with great players from across the ECNL!”
Their participation not only highlights their individual talents but also shines a spotlight on MatchFit Academy’s commitment to working with athletes who can compete at the national level. Gianna and Jordyn’s experiences at the ECNL Conference Cup will undoubtedly enrich their future performances, both on and off the field, as they continue to grow as players and leaders.
"The ECNL Conference Cup is an incredible platform that showcases the talent and dedication of the best players in the league," MatchFit Academy Girls Director of Coaching said. "I am extremely proud of both Jordyn and Gi. Being selected to compete with and against the top players in the ECNL was a fantastic experience that will contribute greatly to their growth as players. This opportunity not only highlights their hard work but also inspires them to continue striving for excellence in the game."
