MFA's Cullen Barrett and Mason Cannon Selected for U.S. Soccer Talent ID Training Center

We are thrilled and incredibly proud to announce that MatchFit Academy's own Cullen Barrett and Mason Cannon have been selected to participate in U.S. Soccer’s U14 Talent ID Center on October 2nd, 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for both Cullen and Mason to showcase their talents on a national stage and further their development in the sport.

"This is a great opportunity in Cullen and Mason’s young soccer careers and well deserved," MatchFit Academy Shore Boys Director of Coaching Brian Woods said. "It is a proud moment for MatchFit Academy and Surf Nation, and proof the club's pathway is effective! We wish them all the best on October 2nd!"

The U.S. Soccer Talent ID Centers (IDCs) are one-day, invitation-only events where the top youth soccer players from across the country gather to train and compete under the supervision of U.S. Soccer Talent Identification Managers. These centers are a critical component of U.S. Soccer’s talent identification process, designed to replicate the intensity and atmosphere of Youth National Team camps.

IDCs are not only about showcasing skills but also about evaluating players' readiness to advance to higher levels, including potential selection for Youth National Teams. The sessions, which are closed to parents and spectators, allow players to focus entirely on their development in a distraction-free environment. This experience will give Cullen and Mason the chance to compete alongside the nation’s best and continue to grow as players.

At MatchFit Academy, we are committed to providing a clear pathway for our athletes to reach their full potential. This moment is a testament to Cullen and Mason’s hard work, dedication, and the support they have received from their coaches, teammates, and families. We are confident they will make the most of this opportunity and look forward to seeing what the future holds for them.
